Charger bursts out from the East Bay underground with the casual confidence that comes only from hard-fought veteran status. Fusing trap, future bass, R&B and classic hip-hop, Charger pairs J.Tonal's booming 808s, wavy synths and leftfield production flourishes with Capricorn's unorthodox flow and lustrous vocals. The sound is jittery but hypnotic, soothing but surprising—food for the anxious soul.

Capricorn is a rapper, singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist originally from Southern California who recently relocated to Richmond, California—coincidentally, right across the street from J.Tonal. Tonal's Flying Skulls project is a fixture of the Bay Area's genre-flouting electronic music scene. Partnered with a motley assortment of the region's most visionary musicians, he's released music on 1320 Records, Lowpro Lounge Recordings, Daly City Records and Muti Music since 2003.

Charger also features vocals by regular Skulls collaborators Audio Angel on Fourth Assassin, ill45 on Spliff City, Gonzofuze on Test Tone, Esau on Dirge For Summer, plus trumpet by Tim Conroy and sax by Christopher Boa on Streetlight Shuffle.
